چکیده
This study presented the first in a series of investigations currently underway to develop efficacious, cost-effective, and benign processing opportunities produce rare earth elements (REE)–rich concentrate from an Australian complex low–grade saprolite ore [1.14% total oxides (TREO) grade], which is primarily exploited for its gold copper values. work specifically preliminary flotation investigation carried out on using sodium oleate as collector. The relative effects pulp pH, desliming, depressants were investigated ascertain any chance recovering upgrading REE minerals three different configurations. Based experimental results, processes raw feed allowed recovery majority (>50%), but process was unselective, where clay silicate gangue reported into along with minerals. However, desliming before presence (starch silicate) improved selectivity, produced concentrates assaying 5.87% 4.22% TREO grades, corresponding recoveries 45% 50% at pH 9 10.5, respectively. Mineralogical analysis conducted selected indicated that gauge recovered via synergistic act surface activation entrainment due their fine ultrafine nature. A comparison all test results revealed haphazard grade–recovery relationship suggesting there opportunity further maximize both grade through studies other parameters may be optimized. prospect magnetic separation has also been suggested.

Beneficiation of a low-grade iron ore was investigated by combination of the low-intensity magnetic separation and reverse flotation methods. The main constituents of the representative sample were 36.86% Fe, 8.1% FeO, 14.2% CaO, 13.6% SiO2, and 0.12% S based on the X-ray fluorescence, titration, and Leco analysis methods. The mineralogical studies by the X-ray diffraction, scanning electron mi...
متن کاملAn Investigation on the Surface Chemistry of Some Rare Earth Minerals during Flotation by Tof-sims
The Thor lake deposit is a world class resource of rare earth (REE) metals and minerals in Canada. Development work to optimize a REE mineral recovery process flow sheet is underway, however, given the ore mineralogy; the developed reagent scheme is relatively complex. As part of a research project, micro flotation tests were conducted on a feed sample in order to examine factors affecting stre...
متن کاملHarvesting of algae by froth flotation.
A highly efficient froth flotation procedure has been developed for harvesting algae from dilute suspensions. The method does not depend upon the addition of flotants. Harvesting is carried out in a long column containing the feed solution which is aerated from below. A stable column of foam is produced and harvested from a side arm near the top of the column. The cell concentration of the harv...
